The Miller Analogies
Test (MAT)
Effective Fall 1994, all applicants for the Counselor Education program at Central Michigan University are required to submit a recent (not more than five years old) Miller Analogies Test (MAT) score. The MAT is available at college testing centers across the state, usually for a fee of about $60.00, although this fee may vary from test site to test site.
Like the GRE, the MAT is designed to measure scholastic aptitudes for graduate-level studies. However, unlike the GRE, the MAT is a strictly verbal test. The MAT is intended to measure your ability to recognize relationships between ideas, your fluency in the English language, and your general knowledge of literature, philosophy, history, science, mathematics, and fine arts. It requires the student to discern in 60 minutes logical relationships for 120 varied analogy problems.
The CMU
Computer Based Testing Center offers the MAT
on an arranged basis.

at least three weeks to arrive at the designated institution(s).
Be sure you take the MAT far enough in advance of the application
deadline for your results to arrive on time.
